Gabe!

Hey there dude. Your mom just gave me your blog address -- so I caught myself up on everything, and am very impressed with all you have accomplished in such a short time.

Anyways, I would love to send you and your host family a care-package. I especially would like to include something specific for each person in the family. Do you have any suggestions for what I should include for them? Let me know :)

Cheer! ~ Anna Banana

PS. I could send you a picture of one of my friends too, if you want one...Im sure Sarah wouldnt mind being used to ward off all the probing questions regarding your single status :)

Gabe,
We need a phone number for the office too, OK? Please ask in the office if it's worth sending the leatherman.

Hey boss.. just got caught up (for some reason my bookmark was only your initial post). Sounds like you are enjoying yourself down there and doing great things. It's pretty humbling to know you're down there giving time to such an awesome cause, and actually inspiring. When I finish my master's I'm going to start the application process and hopefully get accepted when the remainder of my duty requirement for the army is up.

Kim

PS- What kinda care package can we send ya?..you missing anything in particular from the states?..I'm sure you don't want to collect too much stuff that you have to transport to your next area, but consumables might be good?

Keep up the good work bro, we're proud of you up here.

Hey all,

Thanks to the new people for reading and replying to my blog.... Kim, I sure hope nobody feels too humbled by this kind of thing, because it´s within everybody´s grasp! I have a large amount of respect for people who do civil service of any kind; PC happened to be the type that I felt was most suited to me personally. That´s awesome that you are interested! Don´t know how much I would want to start this kind of adventure later in my life, especially after finishing a master´s and a different kind of service. mucho respeto. =)

Mom, phone number to come tomorrow. Go ahead and send the leatherman, but I would recommend putting it in a box even though it´ll fit fine in a soft package.

I would like to put another entry in my blog today, and hopefully you guys all manage to read this, but I don´t really have enough time to do that. Suffice to say a lot of things have happened since last week, not the least of which was moving to another town and another host family for our FBT (field based training). We will be here for 4 weeks and then back to Siguatepeque for 2. Anna, if you want to send a care package you might want to wait a week or two so I´m most likely to get it when I´m back in Siguatepeque. As for contents; anything really. The host family mom likes american products such as Irish Spring soap and nice scented stuff of some kind or another. For the kids, I´m sure they´d be enchanted with whatever. =) As for me, same. I´ve been pretty starved for books here so that´s always welcome.

Gabe
